The Coast Guard and 9/11 … 25 Years Later — Video Recordings Released

This year marked the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. To commemorate and reflect on their impact on the Coast Guard, the Foundation for Coast Guard History and the U.S. Coast Guard Historian’s Office hosted a special program, “The Coast Guard and 9/11… 25 Years Later,” from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, at the Army and Navy Club in Washington.

The Coast Guard has announced that it has posted video recordings of the program. You can find links to the videos below.

The program brought together Coast Guard leaders at the forefront of the Coast Guard’s actions on 9/11 and in the days immediately after, as well as those who were crucial to implementing the changes the attacks brought to the Coast Guard in the days and years that followed. The program sought to distill the key leadership and organizational changes and included a close-out discussion by Coast Guard Historians on how the events were documented and preserved. We were privileged to have the following people participate in the program.
